Installation · six screens · “Art & Quantum” trail of the World Quantum Cannes Festival, 17–18 November 2026.

The quantum nature of time, light and space
From their explorations of light to monumental installations at the Centre Pompidou, the studio Arotin & Serghei blends art, digital media and quantum physics. With Infinite Time Machine, the duo explore the quantum nature of time, light and space. Six synchronised screens form a luminous architecture in perpetual motion: gears, dials and celestial trajectories overlap, shift and recompose, like so many possible states of a single instant.
The installation does not describe time: it calls it into question. By multiplying simultaneous viewpoints on the same mechanism, the work lets visitors experience what quantum physics states in other terms – that observation takes part in what it observes, and that our perception of the universe is only one reading among others.
Why this work is part of the trail
“Making the invisible visible”, the artistic trail conceived by Diana Vicinelli Landi, opens with this installation. It sets out the first dimension of the quantum world explored by the trail: indeterminacy, and light as the raw material of experience.
